Hello to all of you beautiful people, welcome to my first blog post. Im so excited to be starting this blog, hopefully you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
Well anyway lets get on with this blog post. Today I will be talking about some purchases that I made from trusty, old Superdrug today. Its not really anything big, just a few skincare additions and makeup products perfect for my first post. I love describing so get ready for some detailed analysis on the products. So lets get started...
First up, is Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser. The first thing that drew me to this product was that it was infact a foaming cleanser, which I liked because it would be easier to get a lot out of the product as you only need about 1-2 pumps, which comes in handy. And on the subject of pumps, I love this type of applicator just because you don’t waste any product, and you don't have to send a lot of time fiddling round with a squeezy tube (is that what they call them?) The claims of the product is to gently remove impurities and all traces of makeup, which is perfect if you prefer makeup wipes like me. Another reason I purchased this, was because of the amazing reviews I read about it, so I just thought why not try it myself. I used this today replacing a Neutrogena wash I own, and already can say I love it. It feels really soft on my skin, and doesn't take long to really work it into your skin. After you rinse the product you skin feels squeaky clean, and pores feel cleansed and clear, which is always a bonus. The price retails at around £4.49, which is a bargain for a cleanser that is an amazing product like this. Oh and did I mention it’s foamy.
I desperately needed a new moisturiser, but it is really hard to find myself a good one. If I get one specifically for oily skin my skin will get dry and flaky and nobody wants that, but if I get one specifically for dry skin, too much oil will build up on my face, causing me to break out. So I took a chance of buying the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. Now the reason I wanted to buy this is because it had the word hydrating in it. This is important especially in the winter months, and I live in the uk, so do you see why I need a hydrating moisturizer on my skin? Yep I do to. Anyway just getting to the point I really like this moisturizer. As soon as it glides onto your you can automatically feel you skin being refreshed and like it has been filled with moisture. Also super smooth to. It is a creamy, soft consistency which makes it remarkably bendable and also very easy to apply. I also like how it doesn’t make my skin look oily or shiny in the slightest. The moisturizer is great for both day and night as it makes a great base for makeup in the day, and as sleeping helps repair your skin, the moisturizer helps during that process. Will I be purchasing this again? Definitely. Its also a bargain to retailing at £3.99, score!
Now next up is a thing that I have never even bothered to look at before, or even considered buying. But that was because I didn't think I needed it. And it is the Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist. And what it basically is, is a spray that you squirt on your face when you think that your face needs a moisture boost. Pretty simple really (Pun intended btw). It claims to give dull, tired skin an instant boost. Which instantly absorbs into your face, restoring moisture balance. And that's not it you can also use it over makeup without disturbing your masterpiece. This sounds like an amazing product. Another reason I bought it was so I can use it after gym/PE to help calm down the heat on my face. And also a holy grail for hot days, but we won't be having them for along time over in the UK, but you never know. It retails at a price of £5.99, which is quite pricy for such a small bottle, but is it worth it? We shall see.
Now moving on from skin care, I'm going to move on to the small section of makeup. Now it’s not really a wide selection of makeup, it’s just eye shadow. And he are both from the brand or NYC, and no that doesn’t stand for New York City but for New York Colour, yes I've been there. I'm going to start out with the palette that really made me want to get it. And it was the and it was the NYC individual eyes palette for brown eyes or otherwise known as 945 Midtown Mauve. Yes, this palette has been designed specifically for brown eyes, but there are versions for blue and green eyes as well, I obviously bought this one cause I have brown eyes. When you open the lid of the container you will see four gorgeous colours. There are instructions on how to use the colours correctly. The first colour is the highlighter, it is a beautiful creamy, whitish colour which will go perfectly on the brow bone and in the inner eye. The next colour is to be used all over the lid, it is a champagne brown colour, with a hint of shimmer, it is also very nude so can be worn for just a natural eye makeup look. Next is the crease colour, it is a lovely peachy, pinkish colour. This will really make brown eyes pop, as pink and brown go well. Perfect. And lastly is the colour for the crease/contour. This colour is the one that would bring the look together. It is a dark purple, with a brown tinge to it. This colours together are perfect for the winter months. Also that comes with it is a primer and illuminator which is very useful and good for on the go. I can honestly say I will probably be wearing this a lot. The colours are very pigmented just incase you are wondering. The price for this is just £1.99, which is amazing, I will definitely be purchasing another one for when I have to do makeup on my sister or bestie who both have blue eyes.
Lastly, I got another eye shadow. This time it was one of NYC Quattro Eye shadow and this was in the colour, NY Tribute. This palette contains for more girly colours, The first I would say used for a highlighter, it is very similar to the one in the other palette I mentioned, before maybe just a little more shimmer is included. Next, is the same pink which was in the other, I couldn’t find any difference between them what's so ever. The next colour in the quad is a medium purple. Its not very dark, but not very light either, which I like so then I can be in the middle. The last colour is a dark purple, but you can see blue in it to. I think that that colour is very beautiful. For pigmentation, it is very good on when I swatched it on my fingers, but I’m not sure how it would last on the eyelids. I would wear this look at night as it contains the last colour which would make the look very dark and also make you look some what mysterious. I bought this for £2.99, which surprised me as you get more in the other one then you do this one, maybe it’s better quality? I don’t no I would have to try them and see which one is better for quality, pigmentation and colour.
